- SOLE SOURCE PROCUREMENT ACTION: The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Acquisition Management Division intends to procure on a sole source basis a 6 GHz Vector Signal Generator from Ztech Instruments Inc., 7715 Tiburon St. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109. The proposed contract action is for commercial supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(2). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all bids, proposals, or quotations received by the closing response date will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The NAICS classification is 334516 Analytical Lab. NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTE PURPOSE: The Quantum Information and Measurements Project of the Quantum Devices Group performs research on superconducting quantum devices. The control, manipulation and measurement of quantum states requires extensive high speed electronics. We require a PXI-express (PXIe)-based Vector Signal Generator (VSG) with an I/Q internal baseband bandwidth of at least 250 MHz with carrier frequencies up to 6 GHz to control and measure circuits in superconducting quantum information experiments. It must be possible to synchronize multiple units within a PXIe chassis. The system must also be easily programmed using a provided Graphical User Interface (GUI) and the vendor must supply programming support and drivers for C/C++ code. This will allow us to operate this equipment with our existing Matlab code infrastructure.
