Interested parties are responsible for adequately marking proprietary or competition sensitive information contained in their response. The United States Peace Corps' Office of Communications works with a large collection of digital media assets. The Office manages the agency's photo and video archives, which contain over 50 years of both physical and digital assets, and designs much of the agency's creative materials. The large files sizes and the nature in which the office works with the assets present unique challenges for storing and backing up this collection. In an attempt to find a forward looking solution to these challenges, the Peace Corps is seeking a cloud based media storage capability. The successful cloud based storage capability will require granular Peace Corps defined access, regular utilization metrics, and FISMA/FedRAMP security compliance. The collection is currently stored across various locations as follows: The photo archives are stored on a dedicated server, dc-bue01, which has 9 TB of space. The Office of Chief Information Officer (OCIO) performs weekly backups to tape of the photo archive server. Tapes are rotated offsite monthly. The video archives are stored on a local system and are not currently being backed up offsite. The local backup system consists of tape (3/4", BETA, and DV) and a digital archive. The digital archive was set up when the agency transitioned from shooting DV to file based HD media about 3 years ago and is a RAID 6 (16 drives) array that is capable of about 24 TB of storage. The design files are stored on the agency share drive. The OCIO managed file server is also backed up weekly to tape with offsite tape rotated every 30 days. These assets are organized by directory structure. Peace Corps staff maps network drives to each of the servers and use various software applications, including Adobe Bridge and Aperture, to manage the photo metadata - primarily utilizing the keyword field in the IPTC Core set of metadata. Staff members use Adobe Bridge, Aperture, and Windows explorer, to browse assets and search for needed photos and creative files. It is common for staff to each browse 1,000 - 1,500 assets per day when putting together creative assets. Please see attached "PC-RFI-DATA" for requirements and requested information guidance.
