- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice as included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation WILL NOT be issued. One Firm Fixed price contract will be awarded based on lowest price meeting brand name specifications. This solicitation number is P12PS21394 and is issued as a request for quote (RFQ). This requirement is a 100% total small business set-aside. The associated NAICS code is 423720. The small business size standard is 100 employees. Anticipated Award Date: Within 5 days of receiving offers. Offerors must have a current registration, before an award can be made in Central Contactor Registry (CCR) also be registered in CCR with the appropriate NAICS code for this solicitation, web site: https://www.bpn.gov/ccr/default.aspx, pursuant to FAR 4.1102 and all other applicable regulations and guidelines can be found at www.sam.gov. All prospective contractors are required to submit or upload their Organization's Representation and Certifications Application (ORCA) at https://orca.bpn.gov prior to submitting your offer. GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF COMMERCIAL ITEM: Potential offerors are to reference the line item on their quote for the following Brand Name as stated: Line Item 0001 - 2 each - Kohler K-12101-C Freewill one piece barrier free transfer shower module with brushed stainless steel grab bars, 45" x 37-1/4" x 84", color: white Line Item 0002 - 4 each - Kohler K-12107-C Freewill barrier-free shower module with soap ledge and brushed stainless steel grab bars, 45" x 37-1/4" x 84", color: white No remanufactured or "gray market" items, covered under standard manufacturer's warranty. Brand Name Justification: This is a brand name solicitation for Kohler K-12101-C and Kohler K-12107-C because of the following: ADA Compliant: Both units come complete with ADA grab bars and transfer seats already installed, at the proper height and location. Grab bars are usually the last items installed and in many instances are put off indefinitely. These units will ensure that the showers always meet ADA standards. The K-12101-C has a built-in transfer seat already installed. Ease of Installation: The Park is creating a bath house for a residential youth camp. The project is being built using park seasonal laborers, many of which have only general skills. Therefore, ease of installation is paramount not only for economy of labor, but also to have the best finished product. Long-term Maintenance: The specified shower modules are one-piece units. Other manufacturers provide four piece units that are assembled in the field and require caulked joints. These caulk joints collect dirt and mildew and must be re-caulked over time. Also, the bath house will be used seasonally, so for a large period of time during the year, there will be no maintenance. The one-piece unit has smooth curved corners, which will ease cleaning and the joints will never fail. The unit also has a domed ceiling, while other four-piece units are open above. The Park determined that the acrylic units would be easier to maintain than ceramic tile surrounds and that the Kohler units would have the best long-term value for cleanliness and maintenance.
