- Description
- The purpose of this amendment (amendment II), is to respond to vendor questions as follows: Question: Do you have a list of test profiles that you need to run? Answer: The shaker(s) will be used in single-frequency constant-amplitude mode (sine mode) at frequencies ranging from 1 Hz to 2 kHz. Question: How many channels will be required including both control and monitoring? Answer: Closed loop control is required along with real-time readout of the shaker oscillation. The readout may be from a separate monitoring channel or from the control channel. Question: What test types will be required? Sine, Random, Shock, SRS, Time History Replication, etc.? Answer: Sine tests will be performed Question: The specifications sheet calls out a minimum of one accelerometer - do you need more than one? Are there certain specifications that you need the accelerometer to meet? Answer: The accelerometer is required as this is an essential part of the feedback control loop. More than one may be included by the manufacturer at their discretion (e.g. if this improves performance). The particular specifications of accelerometer(s) are not part of the RFQ. The important parameter for the technical evaluation will be the expected spectral purity and uniaxial character of the sine-force excitation, taking into account the accelerometer characteristics and all other parts of the control loop. Question: Documentation - can one copy of the manual be electronic (PDF) or do both copies need to be hard copy? Answer: One copy of the manual may be electronic Question: Can you provide information on the specimen that needs to be mounted on the table to understand the number of holes that will need to be drilled and tapped. Answer: A number of different specimens will be mounted, and will be coupled to the shaker armature with an adaptor plate. Therefore a typical set of mounting holes will be adequate. For example, a set of four 1/4-20 mounting holes on a bolt circle (e.g. diameter 3"), with a central 1/4-20 or 1/4-28 hole, would be adequate. The due date and time of August 30, 2012 @ 3pm EST (local time) remains unchanged. Only timely responses shall be considered for award.
