- Description
- *The purpose of this Sources Sought Notice posted 29 AUGUST 2012 is to expand last week's notice (posted 24 August). The substance of today's change is that two new white paper topics on Training have been added; considering the two introduced last week on Operational Energy, the total number of white paper topics is now up to four. The deadline for submittal (which applies to all four topics) has also been extended, by one week, details below.* THE TWO ATTACHMENTS INCLUDED IN LAST WEEK'S NOTICE ARE NOW OBSOLETE; THEY ARE REPLACED IN THEIR ENTIRETY BY THE TWO CORRESPONSING ATTACHMENTS INCLUDED IN TODAY'S [29 AUGUST] POSTING. Summary of Added Topics: Today's Notice, posted 29 August 2012 introduces two additional gaps for Small Unit Training Solutions. 2.1.3Small Unit Training Event Capture and Documentation to Include After Action Reviews: Provide a means of capturing and documenting relevant events occurring during small unit live, virtual, constructive or integrated training activities to facilitate the commanders' conduct of After Action Reviews (AAR). The AAR capability shall inform a comprehensive and objective assessment of individual and collective learning. Provide a commanders interface to training event documentation to reduce the reliance on resource-intensive external support to execute and assess small unit training in any training environment. 2.1.4Degraded Mode Training Capability: Provide a standardized, degraded mode training capability to replicate loss of communications, GPS navigation, aviation, and other cyber related technologies in order to create a relevant and realistic training environment for live, virtual, constructive or integrated training. Refer to the updated Word file attachment for complete details. Deadline Extension: The due date for delivery of White Papers and Draft Training Plans is extended by seven days to 12:00pm (Noon) Eastern Daylight Time September 21, 2012. Again, the new due date is applicable to all four white paper topics-- two for Operational Energy and the two Small Unit Training candidates above. Dates for the Oral Presentation have also been moved. [REFER TO ATTACHMENTS FOR CONTINUATION OF NOTICE REQUIREMENTS.]
