- SITE VISIT Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at Lake View Campground at 10:00 am. Tensleep Canyon Recreation Improvements The overall objective of the Tensleep Canyon Recreation Improvement project is the renovation, rehabilitation and/ or replacement of the recreation site roads, camping and picnic spurs and amenities, toilets and water systems at Lake View Campground and Lake Point Picnic Ground. This multi-faceted construction project includes the rehabilitation of a 25 unit campground (Lake View) and a 10 unit picnic ground (Lake Point) in addition to the gravel resurfacing of one parking lot (Veterans Cove). The lot has 10 and parking spaces. The work will take place on the Powder River Ranger District within the Boundaries of the Bighorn National Forest, located in northeast Wyoming. The project site is located near Meadowlark Lake or approximately, 43 miles southwest of Buffalo, Wyoming. The principal features of the work to be performed under this contract will consist of, but are not limited to the following: 1. Constructing handicap accessible trails. 2. Gravel aggregate overlay on existing parking areas, campground and picnic area roadways, spurs and use areas (gravel to be supplied by the Government). 3. Providing new information kiosks. 4. Reconstructing campground spurs to meet minimum vehicle turning requirements. 5. Replacing existing campground spurs to meet handicap accessibility standards. 6. Improving existing campground and picnic area furnishings with handicap accessible fire rings and picnic tables (site amenities to be supplied by the Government). 7. Upgrading traffic control signs with retro-reflective signing for improved safety, as well as, proper regulatory and recreation signs along highway. 8. Drilling two domestic water wells and installing a complete hand pump assembly and a solar powered submersible pump. This is the only site visit that will occur prior to solicitation.
