- This notice is for informational purposes only. The AFCENT/Reachback Cell A7KQ at Shaw AFB, SC intends to award a purchase order to Universal Fabric Structures, Inc. (UFS) for the purpose of providing replacement parts for fabric shelter structures being utilized at Al Dhafra AB, UAE. Sole Source Determination is based on the following: The 380th ECES Squadron at Al Dhafra AB, UAE requires the purchase of parts which are needed to repair large fabric shelter structures (tents and dome structure). The parts being acquired are: 1 1/2" Dia. Winch Cable SS L=180' P/N 7778, Trolleys P/N 7767A, Spacers P/N 5291A, BM Top Leg Beam MSS P/N 9434580, and BM Lower Leg Beam MSS P/N 943458. The fabric structures were designed specifically for the Air Force as part of Contract number F38604-10-MA115, awarded by 380 ECONS on 18 June 2010. The required items are mil spec and are manufactured by UFS exclusively for the United States Air Force. They are not commercial-off-the -shelf (COTS). UFS holds the proprietary rights to the replacement parts. Therefore, UFS is the only responsible source capable of providing them. As a result, UFS is uniquely qualified to satisfy the Government's minimum requirements The justification for restricting competition is in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation FAR 6.302-1 Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. A post-award notice will be posted on Federal Business Opportunity identifying the AFCENT/Reachback Cell A7KQ's Justification and Approval of this sole-source procurement to Universal Fabric Structures, Inc for purchase. EST. This is NOT a request for Proposal and does NOT constitute any commitment by the Government. Information received will be considered for the sole purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Government will not be responsible for any costs associated with responses to this notification.
