Description
N6 requires access to a web-based IT commercial subscription service whereby they are able to acquire information and technology research in order to conduct operations, planning, and sealift activities for MSC. These IT information and research services shall be provided through the Internet and must grant access to information that is searchable for research on IT topics that include: • Application development • Application integration • Data warehousing • Enterprise Architecture • Hardware platforms • IT Governance • Information Assurance (IA) • The contractor shall provide access to research that will allow the reader to reduce the time required to gather and assimilate information in order to make quicker IT investment decisions. • Accountability Insurance. Ensure that IT decisions are made on the best possible information and planning assumptions. • The contractor shall avoid vendors that lack market strength and scalability. • The contractor shall provide objective, unbiased analysis of vendor technology and claims. • The contractor shall ensure that IT decisions are made on the best possible information and planning assumptions. • Vendor Qualification. The contractor shall assess the financial and business viability of vendors and determine their ability to survive and the soundness of their vision. • Source of Credibility. The contractor shall serve as an effective seal of approval by providing N6 with the long-term advantages or consequences of choices. • Negotiating Better. The contractor shall provide independent and objective research analysis to help determine what negotiating tactics are most successful, how standard contracts can be modified, how to get special Ts & Cs added, or how to obtain a special discounts. • RFP/Proposal Assistance. The contractor shall assist with research analysis and in compiling requirements for RFP's. • Membership in Research Network in IT. Gain access to the findings and experiences of other clients in a research network. The contractor shall assist with the interaction of other clients. Analysts' awareness of their findings enables N6 to benefit from all experiences in the research network. • The contractor shall support the MSC and N6 Strategic Plans. Research outlines evolving markets and vendor strategies and provides strategic planning assumptions, which we can use to customize our own directions.
