- Justification for Sole Source The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) intends to negotiate a sole-source, firm-fixed price contract with REMOTEC, Inc., Clinton, TN, under Request for Quote (RFQ) RFQ-2251126250. This notice will be distributed solely through the General Services Administration's Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) website www.fedbizopps.gov. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the FBO site to ensure that they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. REMOTEC Inc. is to provide evaluation and repair services for the FBI's fleet of ANDROS robots. Based on market research via the World Wide Web it has been determined that the FBI's requirement for these ANDROS robot repairs can only be provided by REMOTEC, Inc. because they are the sole manufacturers of the robot parts and the only authorized repair facility. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, interested parties may identify their interests and capability to respond to this requirement or submit proposals to this office by 10:00 AM, EST, Tuesday, September 11, 2012, to the attention of Mr. David L. Marmo, Contracting Officer, via E-mail at David.Marmo@ic.fbi.gov Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The North American Industrial Classification System number is 811219. This contract will be awarded as a commercial item in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation, Part 12. Telephone requests will not be accepted.
