- Justification for Sole Source The Federal Bureau of Investigation intends to negotiate a sole-source, firm-fixed price contract with RockSmith Precision Machining, Inc., Los Alamos, NM, under Request for Quote (RFQ) RFQ-C007373. This notice will be distributed solely through the General Services Administration's Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) website www.fedbizopps.gov. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the FBO site to ensure that they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. RockSmith Precision Machining, Inc. is to provide the following items: five (5) Medium Cable Cutters (MCC), five (5) Light Cable Cutters (LCC), and five (5) LCC/MCC Pelican Cases. Based on market research via the World Wide Web it has been determined that the FBI's requirement for these Diagnostic Tools can only be provided by RockSmith Precision Machining, Inc. because they are the sole manufacturers and suppliers of these devices. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, interested parties may identify their interests and capability to respond to this requirement or submit proposals to this office by 10:00 AM, EST, Tuesday, September 11, 2012, to the attention of Mr. David L. Marmo, Contracting Officer, via E-mail at David.Marmo@ic.fbi.gov. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The North American Industrial Classification System number is 332710. This contract will be awarded as a commercial item in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation, Part 12. Telephone requests will not be accepted.
