- THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT SYNOPSIS! AFISRA/A7KRA has a sole source requirement for the purchase of a portable beta counters and hand held survey meters in support of WC-135/P-System. This is a Sole Source with Canberra Industries Inc, IAW FAR 6.302-1. Canberra Industries Inc. is the only source capable of fulfilling the government's requirement as a sole. Canberra Industries Inc. has equipment with radon discrimination capabilities to reduce count time in the field and solid state probe capable of withstanding atmospheric changes during flight. Additionally, this will provide the count data required to make the appropriate field level decisions and ultimately ensure personnel health and safety due to hazardous levels of radiation contamination. No solicitation documents exist at this time. This item/service utilizes Standard Industrial Code (SIC) 6665, and North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code of 334516 with a business size of 500 employees. Interested firms may identify their capability to respond to this requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes; however, the government will consider any responses from capable sources received within 10 days after date of publication of this synopsis. AFIRSRA/A7KRA has determined that Canberra Industries Inc. is the only source capable of providing this requirement. Phone calls will not be accepted.
