- The National Park Service (NPS), Missouri MABO on behalf of Jefferson National Expansion Memorial, intends to award on a sole source basis to Regional Justice Information Service (REJIS) the following requirement: REJIS is to provide a communication circuit to connect devices used by the NPS to the criminal justice information systems (CJIS) network. This connection allows NPS to access records in the regional criminal justice computer system that supports local law envorcement, corrections, and municipal courts, the Missouri Department of Revenue for motor vehicle and operator licensing information, drivers license and motor vehicle registration from other states, National Crime Information Center, and the ability to send and receive messages with other agencies on the REJIS network. REJIS works with the local telephone company to secure the needed circuit and provides 24 hour a day monitoring to assure that the network is available. REJIS also contracts for maintenenzce of the routers and firewall. REJIS monitors the equipment 24 hours a day and when problems are identified will either address the situation and take necessary corrective action or will contact the vendor with the maintenance contract and coordinate the repair or replacement of the equipment. REJIS is a regional data processing center serving governmental agencies in the greater St. Louis, MO area. It is a joint commission of the City and County of St. Louis, created when the Mayor of the City of St. Louis and the County Executive for St. Louis County signed a Cooperative Agreement. The commision has focused on providing services to the criminal justice community, and as such is classified as a criminal justice agency. REJIS is the sole known entity in the metropolitan St. Louis area through which the NPS, Jefferson National Expansion Memorial, can gain access to the FBI's criminal justice database. NPS law enforcement is mandated to use the FBI database to acquire information relating to criminal records during the course of daily operations. REJIS maintains exclusive jurisdiction over the integrity and security of this information portal. The estimated cost of these services is less than $20,0000 annually.
