Description
The Department of the Army, Healthcare Acquisition Activity- North intends to negotiate a Sole Source commercial item procurement with CENSIS to provide InstrumenTrac, instrument level tracking and data management system. The system will include hardware: Censitrac Buffer Server, document scanner, electrochemical marking kit, FIPS compliant wireless scanner, tethered instrument scanner, label printer with network cord, laser jet printer, small form factor PC, touch screen monitor 19" widescreen format, waterproof keyboard with integrated touchpad mouse; Supplies: Electrochemical marking stencils (standard); Implementation; and Subscription: Tier 3 InstrumenTrac software license fee. This proposed procurement is for supplies for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement no later than September 11, 2012 noon local time. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer. The sole source is sought to ensure standardization with all facilities in the National Capital Region. It will avoid duplication of costs that is not expected to be recovered through competition, or the unacceptable delays due to the government. Censitrac automated tracking for surgical instruments and equipment improves infection control and provides the data for meaningful benchmarking and continuous process improvement. This is the proven path to zero adverse events, improved clinical outcomes, streamlined workflows and optimized surgical instrument tracking and management. It ensures all instruments are tracked through proper reprocessing, increases OR efficiency, patient safety, and benchmarking and optimizes the useful life of OR assets.
