- Description
- NASA/ARC has a requirement for a high precision position, velocity, and altitude estimation system used for autonomous navigation on the K10 rovers. It will be used for the HET Surface Tele-robotics Project with astronauts on the ISS controlling K10 on the ground. The contractor shall deliver a unit that is compatible to our existing system that uses Novatel OEMV and IMU-H58 along with existing softwares. The contractor shall deliver a GPS receiver board and Inertial Measurement Unit with the following specs: 1.GPS receiver board shall couple GPS estimates with IMU measurements to provide accurate position, velocity and attitude estimates 2.GPS receiver board shall be compatible with our current DGPS system 3.GPS receiver board power consumption shall be less than 2.1 watts 4.GPS receiver board shall be 125x85x13 mm or smaller 5.Horizontal position Accuracy shall be 0.4 m or less with DGPS 6.Horizontal position Accuracy shall be 1.5 m or less with Single point L1 7.Horizontal position Accuracy shall be 1.2 m or less with Single point L1/L2 8.The IMU shall be 195x168x146 mm or smaller 9.The IMU shall be 4.5 kg or less 10.The IMU power consumption shall be 8 watts 11.The IMU gyro rate bias shall be 1.0 deg/hr or less 12.The IMU accelerometer bias shall be 1.0 mg or less 13.The position estimation updates shall be at 100 Hz or more 14.The velocity estimation updates shall be at 100 Hz or more 15.The attitude estimation updates shall be at 100 Hz or more ARC intends to issue this purchase order as a sole-source to: Novatel Inc. 1120 - 68th Avenue N.E. Calgary AB Canada T2E 8S5 NCAGE:38757 This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, which is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ); quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Offerors are required to use the On-Line RFQ system to submit their quote. The On-line RFQ system is linked above or it may be accessed at http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/eps/bizops.cgi?gr=C&pin=. The information required by FAR Subpart 12.6 is included in the on-line RFQ. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12 and the Simplified Acquisition Procedures set forth in FAR Part 13. Questions regarding this acquisition must be submitted in writing (e-mail is preferred) no later than 9/14/12. It is the quoter's responsibility to monitor this site for the release of amendments (if any). Potential quoters will be responsible for downloading their own copy of this notice, the on-line RFQ and amendments (if any). NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable.
