Description
Industry Day Announcement (Draft) This announcement provides notice that Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM), Program Manager for Combat Support Systems (PM CSS) will be holding an Industry Day from 8:00a.m. to 4:00p.m. on 18 September 2012 at Marine Corps Base (MCB) Quantico. The event will be held at the General Alfred M. Gray Research Center auditorium located at 2040 Broadway Street, Quantico, Virginia 22134. The purpose of this event is to exchange information with industry for the upcoming Low Metallic Signature Mine Detector (LMS MD) solicitation. The LMS MD is the material solution to closing the capability gap that currently exists in the detection of explosive hazards with low to zero metallic content. It will be a lightweight, man-portable, handheld mine detection system that is capable of detecting explosive hazards and discriminating between various threat devices, such as metallic mines, low metallic mines, and Improvised Explosive Devices (IED), including Home Made Explosives (HME). The improved detection capability of the LMS MD will enhance force protection and enable the mobility of dismounted forces by significantly increasing their ability to locate, mark, avoid and/or reduce all categories of traditional and non-traditional explosive threats. DUE TO TIME CONSTRAINTS, "ONE-ON-ONE" DISCUSSIONS WILL NOT TAKE PLACE. It is anticipated that a solicitation will be issued within three months following this conference on an "unrestricted basis." The estimated period of performance is thirty-six months. All interested parties are invited to participate. Attendance is limited to three (3) people per company. For planning purposes, all parties are requested to submit the names of their personnel who plan to attend, along with title, company, email, and phone number to the Contracting Specialist, Mr. Mark Green at mark.c.green@usmc.mil. Requests by phone will not be permitted. Responses must be received by 4:00 p.m. local time on 10 September 2012. The email subject line of the response should specify "RSVP CSS Industry Day." Once the request is received, additional information will be provided no later than 11 September, such as the performance specification, acquisition schedule and budget profile. All responses to this announcement shall provide a point of contact and email address where this information can be sent. This announcement is for information only and does not constitute a solicitation, nor is it to be construed as a commitment by the Government. The Government is not responsible for any costs expended in responding to this notice.
