Description

Notice of Contract Action (NOCA), notice of intent to award sole source purchase order. This is not a solicitation. The Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 1 (NCO 1 New England) 650/90C intends to negotiate and award a purchase order for the de-installation, re-installation and quality assurance testing revalidation of sensitive laboratory instruments to Beckman Coulter, 5350 Lakeview Pkwy S. Dr., Indianapolis, IN 46268 ( DUNS# 008254708) The equipment/services are described as follows: the contractor shall perform de-installation, re-installation of the VA Providence research Biomek FX system manufactured and acquired from the contractor, Beckman Coulter. This specialized equipment was purchased from Beckman Coulter under Purchase Order: 650D90029 and 650D10009. Since that time Beckman Coulter has been the servicer/maintainer of the equipment. The services requested can only be provided by the company that the equipment was purchased from. Beckman Coulter is familiar with the unique requirements of the specialized equipment. Beckman Coulter's technicians are responsible for securing and immobilizing the equipment prior to the move, supervision of the move, and testing the equipment post-move. For consistency of laboratory results and for validating the system prior to taking the system back on-line, the manufacturers technician's have the exclusive expertise. The contractor shall test and revalidate the systems prior to VA Providence re-commissioning the system. The contractor has the burden of revalidating the system and restoring it to a state and configuration for carrying out VA research activities. The authority for this action is FAR 6.302-1 Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services will satisfy Agency Requirements. This notice contains information current through FAC 2005-60. The NAICS is 541380. The FSC/PSC is H965. No solicitation will be posted to this site.
