Description
Contractor will be responsible for providing all labor, materials and equipment for sealing and striping at three areas on the Table Rock Lake Project. These areas include Moonshine Beach Recreation Area, Cricket Creek Recreation Area, and Viola Recreation Area. All of the paved areas in Moonshine Beach Recreation Area total approximately 21,450 square yards. This entire area will be sealed. All cracks will be sealed as necessary prior to the asphalt sealer application. There is approximately 16,000 linear feet of striping. All parking spaces and no parking areas will be re-striped according to the current layout and shall be yellow in color. Spaces that are currently painted white on the upper parking lot shall be changed to yellow. All handicapped parking spot markings will be repainted blue. There are 6 handicapped accessible parking spots that will need to be painted. All directional arrows shall be repainted white. There are currently 15 directional arrows. All of the paved areas in Cricket Creek Park total approximately 23,674 square yards. This entire area will be sealed. All cracks will be sealed as necessary prior to the asphalt sealer application. There will be approximately 860 linear feet of striping. All parking areas and the area around the booth will be re striped according to the current striping layout. All striping will be yellow in color. All of the paved areas in Viola Park total approximately 22,971 square yards. This entire area will be sealed. All cracks will be sealed as necessary prior to the asphalt sealer application. There will be approximately 1480 linear feet of striping including four yellow directional arrows around the booth. All parking areas and the area around the booth will be re striped according to the current striping layout. All striping will be yellow in color. The contractor must follow the following guidelines: All areas will be cleaned as necessary prior to sealing. All cracks in the existing asphalt will be sealed as necessary prior to the application of the asphalt sealer. The contractor will then apply 2 applications of an approved sealer with 2-4 pounds minimum of sand per gallon added to the mixture for texture. Any grass or vegetation growing up through the pavement will be treated with an herbicide and burnt off with a torch prior to the sealant application. The herbicide must have ample time to activate prior to sealing. The contractor will apply sealant and paint when the temperature of the pavement and ambient air is at 50 degrees Fahrenheit and rising or if approval is given by a Corps Representative. Sealing must be performed during dry weather conditions with no rainfall in the forecast. Parking lot sealant and striping will be applied following manufacturer's recommendations for application and current industry standards for application. The striping will be yellow in color unless otherwise specified. The contractor will seal the specified parking lots in stages in a manner that they can still be used by the public. The contractor may meet with a Corps representative to determine how best to do this according to local traffic use. Each coat of sealant needs to be allowed to cure sufficiently to be ready for vehicular traffic. The contractor will apply sealant around concrete curbs and other structures in a manner to prevent overspray. Upon completion of the project the contractor will remove unused materials from the site and leave the pavement in a clean condition. It is strongly recommended that the contractor make a site visit to gain a good understanding of the scope of work for this project. Point of Contact is Larry Hurley - (417)-335-3452.
