Description
Notice of Intent to Sole Source In order to accomplish their goals, The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) creates opportunities to join alliances with all levels of government agencies, the business community, recovery community, professional organizations and affiliates within the substance abuse prevention, treatment, and recovery fields, and mental health. These relationships help to foster support to spread the word about the possibility of recovery and the efficacy of treatment; as well as to eliminate disparities associated with mental and/or substance use disorders. This initiative will educate the public, specifically those youth and young adults that have been engaged or affiliated with the Association of Recovery Schools, and bring awareness to the cadre of materials available to guide peer-to-peer support, information sharing, outreach, and access to treatment and other services to reinforce the fact that prevention works, treatments is effective, and people recover. The goal is to widely educate and disseminate materials that have been previously developed to educate and advise the public of risks associated with prescription misuse and how it effects one's overall behavioral health, targeting those between the ages of 18-26, realizing that age demographics close to this range may also be reached and/or participate in the outreach and information sharing efforts and activities. The Contractor will organize four (4) webinars for the purpose of two (2) pre-and two (2) post follow-up and attempt to secure the participation of at least 75 youth and young adults in recovery and/or their affiliated constituents within the Association of Recovery Schools. The Contractor will further organize and coordinate all logistics affiliated with an online competition utilizing social media to captivate the interest and use of the SAMHSA resources that have been developed for the target audience of youth and/or young adults. An evaluation of the products and competition outcome will be tracked completed by the contractor. The best practices and findings as a result of the evaluation will be shared during the post webinars.
