Description
The government intends to issue a sole source contract to Dr. Robert Hoyt for Special Studies Physician services at the Navy Medicine Operational Training Center (NMOTC) for a base period of 12 months with up to 4 additional 12 month option periods. Dr. Hoyt is currently providing these services under contract N62645-10-P-0285. NMOTC has a unique need for a Special Studies Physician to provide the services of a part-time consultative physician providing health assessments for repatriated prisoners of war, their matched control group, and former hostages. The Special Studies Physician shall possess experience as an Internal Medicine Physician, knowledge in Cardiology and Aerospace Medicine and knowledge and experience with the medical informatics methodology of inputting and accessing electronic health data. The Special Studies Physician must have at least two years experience in clinically evaluating former prisoners of war. It is essential that the Special Studies Physician be an expert in medical informatics and highly experienced internist with a medical research background. Individuals interested in responding to this notice will need to submit technical data, including cost, sufficient to determine the individual's capability in providing the service required as specified above. All capability statements received by the closing date of this synopsis will be considered by teh Government. A determination by the Government not to compete based on responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Capability statements shall be submitted by e-mail only as a MS Word or Adobe PDF attachment within 15 days of this posting to Carrie Hickman, Carrie.Hickman@med.navy.mil. No phone calls accepted.
