Description

Grass Valley High Definition Kayak Video Production Switcher Background: EES, Department of Veterans Affairs, has recently begun the process of converting its studio uplink facility to high definition video (HDV). In order to support this migration the existing Grass Valley Standard Definition Video Production Switcher (Zodiac) must be replaced with an equivalent Grass Valley High Definition Video Production Switcher (Kayak). EES seeks the best possible price or the Grass Valley production switcher with the installed options indicated above. The existing Grass Valley video production switcher is 10 years-old and has served EES well but is at its end of life, not capable of producing HD video and is no longer supported by Grass Valley. EES now has an opportunity to purchase a demo Grass Valley HD production switcher used at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. The switcher, used for 30 days, will be returned to the factory and sold as new with a full warranty. Over the last 10 years the EES St. Louis production facility has built its technical production core around the Grass Valley switcher by purchasing and integrating Grass Valley video servers that communicate natively with the Grass Valley production switcher. This integration provides for automated video playback, record and automated special effects. The replacement HD Grass Valley video production switcher will integrate seamlessly into our existing workflow with no interruption to the production output or additional cost to modify a video production switcher not designed or intended to communicate with existing broadcast equipment. Line Items: The vendor shall deliver the following brand name or equal equipment: an used factory refurbished B Stock (used with full factory warranty) Grass Valley Kayak HD video production switcher with the following options installed. KAYAK-HD-250 Kayak HD 2.5 M/E Multi-format Production Switcher with 2.5 M/E Control Panel, [KayakHD Control Panel: 2.5 ME, 32 Source buttons. TFT menu display w/ touchscreen, source name displays, 20 meter control/data cables standard.] 8RU frame, 48 Inputs, 24 Mappable Outputs, and 2 Flexible Chroma Keyers per system, and 1 Internal Digital Picture Manipulator (iDPM) per full M/E with 2D plus Perspective, MakeMemo Macros, and 1 V&K Framestore on each keyer bus & YUV Color Correction on each video bus. 20 meter control/data cables standard. Specify WHITEKEYS or COLORKEYS with order. NOTE: with KHD250-PNL-COLOR (Color Keys) KHD-EDPMKayak HD/SD 4 channel Digital Picture Manipulator module and software license for the expansion slot in an 8RU frame. Not for the 4RU frame. Spektra and Kurl must be ordered separately. If ordered for a system already shipped, order under the KHDxxx-SW-OPT configuration corresponding to switcher size after all upgrades. KHD250-MDEFKayakHD-250 MatchDef dual video source scalar for converting 2 SD or HD sources to the production format, 4RU frame allows maximum of 4 for up to 8 sources, 8RU frame allows maximum of 8 for up to 16 sources. 1 mix/effects or IOXPAND option required per every 2 MatchDef options.
