- Description
- This is a notice of intent to award a sole source, Firm- Fixed Price (FFP) Purchase Order under Federal Acquisitions Regulation (FAR) Subpart 13.106 (b) Solicitation from a single source, to ICx Technologies, located at 1024 S Innovation Way, Stillwater, OK 74074. The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) has a requirement for one (1) Griffin 824 Trace Detection Mass Spectrometry (TDMS) drug detection device to be used in the Office of Security Technology 's lab in Central Office that can provide simultaneous detection of narcotics, explosives, and other chemicals as a test bed for testing illicit drugs, pharmaceuticals, hand sanitizers, chemicals, and other substances as part of the BOP's ongoing contraband surveillance program. The Griffin unit is leading edge technology combining portability with mass spectrometry. The TDMS will provide greater accuracy and detection of the newer synthetic drugs like "bath salts" and "K2/Spice" that institutions are finding more and more being illegally used by inmates. ICx Technologies/ FLIR is the manufacture of this equipment. The requirement will be awarded by the Federal Bureau of Prisons and delivered to Central Office. The NAICS code for this requirement is 334519. This notice of intent to award a sole source contract is not a request for competitive quotes. A Request for Quote (RFQ) will not be available for this requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. All responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by the agency. Any firm that believes it can provide the stated equipment shall provide supporting documents demonstrating their products capability and specifications by response date of this notice of intent.
