Description
THIS SOLICITATION HAS BEEN SET-ASIDE FOR SERVICE-DISABLED VETERAN-OWNED (SDVOB) SMALL BUNINESS CONCERNS. BIDS RECEIVED FROM FIRMS OTHER THAN CERTIFIED SDVOBS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED. PROJECT DETAILS: NM PFH 35-1(1), Alamogordo-Elk Location: This project is located approximately 35 miles east of Alamogordo, New Mexico, on Forest Highway 35. The route is also designated as U.S. Highway 82 and the Rio Penasco Road. The project begins east of Mayhill and proceeds north and east 8.66 miles to the Lincoln National Forest boundary. Significant items and quantities: This project consists of one schedule and one option and includes pulverizing the existing roadway, overlaying with asphalt pavement, applying an open-graded friction course, striping, replacing signs, erosion control, and temporary traffic control. Traffic will be maintained during construction with lane closures. A materials transfer vehicle is required to remix and deliver the asphalt mixture from the hauling equipment to the paving equipment. The bid schedule will include an alternate item for the use of intelligent roller compaction technology to achieve specification density of the pulverized base and asphalt pavement. Major quantities include: Pulverizing, 6-inch depth: 464 STA Superpave pavement: 34,500 TON Open-graded asphalt friction course: 5,010 TON It is anticipated that this project will be advertised on or around October 4, 2012 with a tentative bid opening date of November 7, 2012. The contracting range for this project is between $3 million and $6 million. Construction is expected to begin in March, 2013 with completion in September 2013.
