- Under Statutory Authority § 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) the Government anticipates entering into sole source procurement negotiations with Metro Medical Equipment & Supply, Inc. for one Visante Omni System for the William S. Middleton VA Hospital in Madison, WI 53295. Salient features of the Visante Omni System include: Anterior segment OCT imaging with a long wavelength (1310 nm) illumination source; comprehensive anterior segment imaging and biometry; corneal imaging and pachymetry; refractive tools software module; irido-corneal tools module; imaging and measurement of post surgical kerato-refractive corneal integrity and flap thickness. The Government intends to issue an award for this requirement on a Sole Source Basis, per FAR 6.302-1(a)(2), wherein "the supplies or services required by the agency are available from only one responsible source." This item will be procured from Metro Medical Incorporated, located at 200 N. Broadway, Suite 1500, St. Louis, MO, 63102. The applicable NAICS code for this procurement is 334510. Other persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement by September 25, 2012, 4:00 pm local time. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all interest received on or before September 25, 2012 will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received as a result of the notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No solicitation document is available.
