- The US Army Medical Command Southeast Region has a requirement for various Dental Alloys. The Government intends to award a sole source contract for this requirement pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1 Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The suggested contractor is: Jensen Industries Inc., dba Jensen Dental, 50 Stillman Road, North Haven, CT 06473-1622. 10 ounces-AV, Jensen Foundation, High Nobel, white 51.9% gold, 34% palladium, 5% silver, and other elements to include indium, zinc and rhenium; density of at least 13.9; hardness after porcelain firing 225; elongation 30%; yield strength (psi) 70,050; proof stress (MPa) 485; melting range: 2150-2335F / 1175-1280C; coefficient of thermal expansion:14.1 / 14.4. MUST be compatible with Creation Porcelains which are currently being used at the facility. 5 ounces-AV JCB Gold Alloy type three, high Nobel, yellow, with the following alloy content: 62% gold, 3% palladium, 25% silver and other elements to include cooper, zinc, indium and iridium; density of at least 14.2; hardness hard/soft (HV) 250 / 185; elongation hard/soft 26% / 50%; yield strength hard/soft (psi) 65,000 / 35,600; proof stress hard/soft (MPa) 450 / 240; melting range: 1626-1680F / 885-915C. MUST be compatible with Creation Porcelains which are currently being used at the facility. 1 each JRVT Laser Wire, type II, III; high nobel; yellow; 77% gold, 1% palladium, 13% silver, and other elements to include copper, zinc, indium and iridium; density of at least 15.4; hardness hard/soft (HV) 120; elongation hard/soft 55%; yield strength hard/soft (psi) 35,300; proof stress hard/soft (MPa) 245; melting range: 1650-1755F / 900-955C. MUST be compatible with Creation Porcelains which are currently being used at the facility. 1 each shipping charge if applicable. This IS NOT a request for proposal and no solicitation will be issued. However, companies that can provide an equal product MUST SUBMIT THEIR TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES TO INCLUDE TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS OF THEIR PRODUCT, PAST PERFORMANCE INFORMATION, PRICE, DELIVERY TIME AND TECHNICAL/MEDICAL SUPPORT within three (3) calendar days from the date of publication of this notice. This information will be reviewed by the Government technical representatives from Eisenhower Army Medical Center's U.S. Army Dental Command for consideration for future requirements.
