- SOURCES SOUGHT: THIS IS ONLY A MARKET SURVEY FOR WRITTEN INFORMATION ONLY. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSAL AND NO CONTRACT WILL BE AWARDED FROM THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this announcement or any follow-up information requests. In order to protect the procurement integrity of any future procurement that may arise from this announcement, information regarding the technical point of contact will not be given and no appointments for presentation will be made. The U.S. Coast Guard is considering whether or not to set aside an acquisition for HUBZONE Small Business concerns, Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business concerns (SDVOSB), 8(a) certified Small Business concerns, Women-owned Small Business concerns or Small Business concerns. The applicable North American industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 237990, Specialty Trade with a small business size standard $33.5. The total estimated value of the procurement is between $25,000 and $150,000. To be considered small under this NAICS code, a Concern must perform 20% of volume with its own equipment or equipment owned by another small concern. The U. S. Coast Guard is seeking interested vendors with the capability, successful past performance and current relevant experience in the removal of: Riprap from the boat basin and placement of the removed riprap in a stable relocation so that it does not fall back into the boat basin. Removal and disposal of ladder in the boat basin. Removal and disposal of vegetation growing in gutters. Removal and disposal of the corroded steel girder and stanchion supporting the first floor entry way. Installation of new pressure treated, glued-laminated timber girder and column Fabrication and installation of new copper vent ball Removal and disposal of all loose lead-based paint, plaster, wood lath, and furring from all walls and ceilings Removal and disposal of all debris on floors and horizontal surfaces The work includes: The performance period is estimated to be approximately 97 days. Your responses should include the following: (a) a positive statement of your intent to submit a bid for this solicitation as prime contractor; (b) a statement identifying your certified small business designation; (c) evidence of successful past performance/experience in the following areas -experience working with copper and stainless steel and be familiar with joining and fabrication processes for both materials and fabricating reproductions of historic architectural sheet metal elements for historic structure elements for a historic structure. Provide contract numbers, title of project, dollar value, points of contact and telephone numbers, and provide evidence of bonding capacity to the maximum magnitude of the project, to include both single and aggregate totals. A list of completed metalwork restoration projects including a detailed description of each project, the age of the structure, the name and address of the owner, and contact person's name and telephone number. Your response is required no later than October 12, 2012. All of the above must be submitted in sufficient detail for a decision to be made on an applicable set-aside.
