- Description
- Limited Source Justification The MRS Flight Management Systems (FMS) components include the Control Display Unit (CDU) 7000E, Multi-Functional Display (MFD)-268C2, Data Transfer Unit (DTU), and the Integrated Processor Cabinet (IPC). The CDU provides primary control over aviation, radio and mission sensors; returns sensor diagnostics; and provides human interface with flight management systems, including waypoints, SAR patterns, and flight planning. There are three CDUs on the MRS; one for each pilot and one for the Mission System Pallet (MSP) operator. There are two MFDs on the MRS; one displays the chart with mission overlays, the other displays information pertaining to the status of the aircraft. There is on DTU and one IPC on the MRS. The DTU transfers software and navigation database files. The IPC hosts mission software and acts as a switch for the mission bus.
