Description
Action being approved: Guide to Patient and Family Engagement in Health Care Quality and Safety in the Hospital Setting: Development, Implementation and Evaluation Description of services required: The purpose of the project is to promote patient and family engagement in hospital settings by developing, piloting, and revising a Guide to Patient and Family Engagement in Hospital Quality and Safety, implement and evaluate the guide in a number of settings and to disseminate the guide. Identification of the exception to fair opportunity: The order will be issued on a sole-source basis to American Institutes for Research (AIR) because it is a logical follow-on to an order already issued under the contract. All awardees were given a fair opportunity to be considered for the original order. The original order is American Institutes for Research (AIR) Task Order #7 - Guide to Patient and Family Engagement in Health Care Quality and Safety in the Hospital Setting: Development, Implementation and Evaluation. The purpose of this task order is to continue the work to implement and evaluate the guide in three hospital settings, disseminate the guide and provide technical assistance for those interested in evaluation and complete a final report covering all aspects of the project. The Contracting Officer determines that the anticipated costs to the Government will be fair and reasonable. The Contracting Officer certifies that this justification is accurate and complete to the best of the contracting officer's knowledge and belief.
