- Straw - Large Square Bale Specifications USDA-ARS-NADC in Ames, IA will be posting a solicitation for Straw - Large Square Bales on or around October 26th, 1:00pm Central Time. This solicitation will seek offers for fixed price straw meeting the specifications outlined in this posting's attachment. With no set requirement of the number of deliveries and amount of straw (indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity), offers will be sought for vendors able to provide between 25 and 200 tons of the specified hay as needed within 24 hours of receiving a delivery notice. This solicitation will be set aside for Small Businesses under NAICS 111140. To be considered a small business under this NAICS, offerors must not exceed the $750,000 size standard. Offers from vendors not meeting this criteria will be rejected with no further consideration.
