- Description: The Project Director for Joint Products (PD JP), Picatinny Arsenal, NJ and the Army Contracting Command-Rock Island, IL (ACC-RI), are currently seeking sources for the manufacture and delivery of PA-60 Ammunition Boxes. The PA-60 metal ammunition container, NSN: 8140-01-198-4697, is rectangular in shape, 12 inches long, 6.09 inches wide, and 13.4 inches in height. Manufacture of the ammunition container requires stringent compliance with fabrication, welding and coating specifications. Specifications: The PA-60 Metal Ammunition Boxes are purchased to a Government-owned Technical Data Package (TDP). A top level drawing (9234843) is available from the point of contact listed below. All applicable military drawings and specifications must be followed. The Government does not intend to deviate on any dimensional tolerance or specifications. Planned Acquisition: A firm fixed price contract with a base year and one option year is contemplated for the period of FY13-FY14 with a planned award in 4QFY13 for approximately 10,000 each PA-60 Ammunition Boxes. The Government is seeking producers that can provide past experience with this or a similar item. The contractor will be required to have the capacity to manufacture and deliver approximately 1,000 each PA-60s per month beginning January 2014. Submission Information: All responsible interested sources should submit their capabilities/qualification data. The respondent's capabilities information must demonstrate the ability to produce 10,000 PA-60 Ammunition Boxes. All potential producers are requested to submit a capability statement, which reflects their manufacturing capabilities (to include a monthly 1 shift capacity rate), specialized equipment (also note if any significant investments are required for capability), critical skills, etc. Interested firms that can meet all the requirements set forth above are requested to submit responses with clear and convincing documentation via email or fax to the point of contact listed. Submittal of information is requested via electronic mail only, no later than 30 days from the date of this notice. All responses should be submitted to ACC-Rock Island (ACC-RI), ATTN: CCRC-AR, Rock Island, IL 61299-6500 at ACC-RI, Contract Specialist - Ben C. Riessen, and e-mail address benjamin.c.riessen.civ@mail.mil. This announcement is for INFORMATION and PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY and should NOT be construed as a commitment by the Government for any purpose. This announcement does not constitute a Request for Proposals and no contract will be awarded from this announcement. Requests for solicitation will not receive a response. It is expected that the items will be purchased via a Technical Data Package. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this announcement and any follow-up information requests. No basis for claim against the Government shall arise as a result from a response to this announcement or Government use of any information provided. This announcement does not restrict the Government to an ultimate acquisition strategy. The Government reserves the right to consider acquisition strategies as deemed appropriate.
