Description
STATEMENT OF NEED, 2100-BOS-E1 SYSTEM FOR NOAA SHIP - 2012 TERMS AND CONDITIONS THAT WILL APPLY TO ORDER STANDARD FORM 18 (SF 18) TO BE USED FOR VENDOR'S QUOTE STATEMENT OF NEED 2100-BOS-E1 SYSTEM FOR NOAA SHIP - 2012 1.0 Scope The 2100-BOS-E1 System is a small machine used to lubricate wire ropes used in NOAA's oceanographic research. The NOAA ship Oscar Dyson has procured new electromechanical CTD wire for installation in late 2012. New wire does not come lubricated and the time to lubricate the new wire is during installation when the new wire is being spooled off of a spool on shore onto the ship's CTD winch. Once the wire is initially lubricated, the wire will be lubricated annually using this same machine throughout the life of the electromechanical CTD wire. This same 2100-BOS-E1 System will also be used to lubricate new electromechanical net sonde wire that is being installed on the Dyson during late 2012, as well as wire on other NOAA ships located at MOC-P in Oregon. 2.0 Requirements 2.1 The system must not have rubber seals in the housing. 2.2 System must be electronically controlled and cannot require grease seals inside the housing. 3.0 Delivery Date The delivery date for the 2100-BOS-E1 System is November 19, 2012. 4.0 Points of contact for technical questions: Marine Operations Center - Pacific 2002 SE Marine Science Drive Newport, OR 97365 Attention: Jessica E.
