Notice Type: Special Notice Synopsis: Pursuant to FAR 8.402(f), subsequent to OIG Report No. 09-01784-146, and in accordance with the initiative to standardize the leasing of Endoscopes and related equipment implemented per VHA Directive 2009-004, VHA Handbook 1761.1 and the 4/19/2010 DUSHOM (10N) (WebCIMS No. 451818) memo, notice is given that VA NY/NJ Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN3) intends to add the following scope series and ancillary equipment via modification to our existing VISN-wide FSS-BPA (VA243-BP-0151) awarded against Olympus America Inc. FSS Schedule contract (VA797P-2065D): BF SeriesBronchoscopes CY SeriesCystoscopes ENF series Rhinolaryngoscope LF SeriesTracheal Fiberscope M3 SeriesAutoclavable Telescope MR Series Ureteroscope URF series Flexible Ureteroscope WA5 SeriesLaparoscopes This proposed modification is in furtherance of a VHA goal to standardize leasing of Endoscopes (includes GI and flexible fiber optic endoscopy). Implementation of this initiative to date has resulted in reduced variability in the number of different SOPs required for endoscope setup and RME, thus reducing the potential for user error and enhancing patient safety. This is a notice of intent and not a request for competitive proposals. No solicitation is available for this requirement. Interested parties may submit a capability statement and pricing information for the requirement within 8 calendar days of the publication of this notice, to be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed BPA modification based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a separate competitive procurement.
