- This is a sole source synopsis for the acquisition of a four month performance period extension, 01 January 2013 to 30 April 2013, for current Unclassified IT Support and Services (UITSS) contract HR0011-06-D-0001 with Wyle Information Systems, for commercial Information Technology services in support of Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency's (DARPA) Support Services Office (SSO) Information Technology Services (ITS) support and services effort. In accordance with the authority at FAR 6.302-1, "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements", DARPA intends to negotiate a contract modification for the four month extension. This announcement constitutes the only synopsis for this requirement and is issued for notification purposes only. The current support services are set to expire on 31 December 2012 and the proposals received from the Solicitation Request for Proposals are still under review. While the contract was expected to be awarded on or about 30 September 2012, it is now expected that the contract will be awarded on or about 31 January 2013 and the four month contract extension will allow for adequate turnover of duties to a follow-on contractor. Having Wyle Information Systems continue providing the support services for the four month period is necessary because DARPA SSO/ITS requires a team of individuals that is familiar with the current DARPA IT environment and strategic plan in order to provide full-spectrum Information Technology (IT) Services including network an security architecture, file storage and backup, email and scheduling, server, desktop, laptop and printer provisioning and support, COTS and Legacy application provisioning and support, software development, Web page development and support, and configuration management for Agency personnel (approximately 1000 customers). On 7 March 2012, U.S. Army ACC-APG-RTP published a Request for Proposal with solicitation number W911NF-12-R-0002 on FedBizOpps for the subsequent acquisition of the commercial Information Technology services. The deadline to receive proposals was 27 April 2012.
