Description
This SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT is a Market Survey for information only. This is not a solicitation announcement for proposals and no contract will be awarded from this announcement. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this announcement or any follow-up information requests. No telephone calls will be accepted requesting a bid package or solicitation. There is no bid package or solicitation, to protect the procurement integrity of any future procurement, if any, that may arise from this announcement. The Naval Facilities Engineering and Expeditionary Warfare Center, Port Hueneme, CA is seeking information on weapons transport containers capable of the following: 1. Built into an International Standards Organization TRICON type 1 or type 2 container 2. Utilizes commercially available configurable weapons racks able to accommodate virtually any mix of Naval Expeditionary Force weapons including the M9, M4, M16, M203, MK15, 240B and M2 50 cal for example 3. Utilizes commercially available configurable racks/cabinets to accommodate weapons accessories to include night vision goggles, tri/bi pods, ammunition magazines and cleaning equipment for example. 4. Maximizes weapons and accessory storage and flexibility. while allowing access to racks/cabinets for equipment issue. 5. Secures weapons and accessories within racks/cabinets during transport via air, sea, land, preventing damage to weapons and accessories. Interested parties shall indicate whether they have available equipment that can target the functions listed above. Ideally, it is desired that all function be performed using a single rack/cabinet vendor, but consideration may be given to systems utilizing multiple rack/cabinet vendors. The principal recipients of this equipment are units of the Expeditionary Navy. In order to assist the activity manager in evaluating the cost/benefit of the candidate units, the following information is desirable: specifications of the equipment, performance data, equipment configurations, estimated capital cost, estimated operation and maintenance costs, and return-on-investment calculation depending upon the best financial options. Interested sources must submit any information relating to this announcement in writing via e-mail to lynn.torres@navy.mil (contractual) and claude.thomas@navy.mil (technical). The deadline for receiving responses is 15 January 2013. Responses received after this deadline may not be considered. Since this is a sources sought announcement, no evaluation letters will be issued to the participants. Information should include Business Name, business CAGE or DUNS code, and a technical point of contact, as well as technical information.
