- Overhaul spec This is a sources sought notice issued in accordance with FAR Part 5, FAR Part 6.302-1 and HSAM 3006.302-1. For information regarding this acquisition, contact the Contracting official listed herein. All inquiries shall be in writing. It is anticipated that this acquisition will be unrestricted under NAICS code 811310 with the small business size standard being $7mil. The U.S. Coast Guard Surface Forces Logistics Center intends to enter into a contract for the overhaul, purchase, and technical support services for Zahnradfabrik Friedrichshafen AG (ZF) Marine Reduction Gears using Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts only. The reduction gears listed below are attached to the main propulsion units installed onboard the U.S. Coast Guard's 110' and 87' WPB Coast Guard Cutters: ZF BW1500 Reduction Gear (NSN 3010-99-741-9566) ZF BW755 Reduction Gear (NSN 2010-12-327-7446) ZF BW255 Reduction Gear (NSN 2010-12-347-4887) Overhauls shall be accomplished in accordance with the attached specification document D-233-0421 entitled, "Overhaul Specification ZF Reduction Gears Technical Representative Support Purchase of New Gears." This requirement must be completed utilizing only genuine (ZF) parts from the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). Remanufactured or Aftermarket parts are not acceptable. The Coast Guard does not own the rights to the technical data necessary to evaluate other parts. Period of Performance: It is anticipated that a competitive acquisition for a requirements-type contract with one base year and four optional years will be awarded. Concerns having the expertise and required capabilities to provide the service and supplies described in the attached Specification are invited to submit complete information discussing the same within 14 calendar days from the day this notice is posted. The information submitted must include a guarantee that the offeror can obtain genuine OEM parts that will be used to overhaul these marine gears. If you intend to submit an offer on this acquisition, please respond by email to Dana.D.Solomon@uscg.mil. In your response you must include: (a) "Company Name" response to Sources Sought HSCG40-13-S-19008, in your subject line, (b) a positive statement of your intention to submit a bid for this solicitation as a prime contractor, (c) a guarantee that you can obtain genuine OEM parts, (d) point of contact information, and (d) business size (large, small, veteran-owned small business, service-disabled small business, HUBZone small business, small disadvantaged business or women-owned small business concerns). Your response is required by 12 December 2012, 5:00 pm (EST). Submission of this data for review shall not impede award of this contract as planned. The Government does NOT intend to pay for information solicited.
