Description
Amendment #3 Question #1 Spare connector for each non-removable connector - Unfortunately we are not sure what connectors are requested in this spare part callout. Please confirm if these are electrical connectors such as the inlet for the temperature sensor or some other type of connector. Answer #1 Only connectors which require spares are the ones which cannot be reused after removal at a time of cable pulling. If a connector has to be removed to accommodate the pulling of the cable during installation and if such connector cannot be reattached / reused; a spare connector must be provided. Question #2 We are a bit confused regarding your response in amendment #2 Original Question: In the Technical Specification section 3.2.2.2 requests an opening in the vacuum chamber of 3.4 meters, but the magnet array is only 2.8 meters. This is the same specification as for earlier RFQs for 3 meter magnet array lengths. Is a 3.4 meter opening necessary, or could 3.2 meters work as well? Original Answer: The 3.4 meter opening is necessary New Question However, in the drawings "SR-ID-ISR-IVU-1000" and "SR-ID-SMI-IVU-1000", the chamber length is 3463.86mm. Therefore, we believe that the 3.4m opening is impossible since it should be less than 3.2m. We will propose it as 3120mm but are now still checking. Can you again confirm the 3.4 meter opening in the vacuum chamber? Answer #2 For the LIX layout, the Vacuum Chamber length is 3750.56, so the opening should be approximately 3.4 meters. But, for ISR and SMI, the Vacuum Chamber length is 3463.86, so the opening should be approximately 3.2 meters, in order to leave enough material at the ends of the chamber to maintin structual integrity. All other requirements as set forth in RFP solicitation 227859 remain unchanged. All questions must be addressed in writing to the attention of George Woods
