Description

This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce On Line (NECO) site located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopses and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA). The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) intends to issue solicitation number N0002413R4316 for the FY 13 maintenance/modernization availability of the USS MONTPELIER (SSN 765). The maintenance/modernization availability includes maintenance, repair, alterations, testing, modernization, and routine work on a nuclear-powered submarine. It is anticipated that this will be a non-competitive procurement awarded to Huntington Ingalls Incorporated/Newport News Shipbuilding, a nuclear-qualified contractor, located at 4101 Washington Avenue, in Newport News, Virginia (zip code 23607). Firms interested in subcontracting opportunities should contact Huntington Ingalls/Newport News Shipbuilding directly. The maintenance/modernization availability is scheduled to last approximately four months. The maintenance/modernization availability will be performed in a graving dock located at Huntington Ingalls Incorporated/Newport News Shipbuildings located in the ship's homeport of Norfolk, Virginia. The solicitation will be issued on or about 4 January 2013. The tentative due date for receipt of proposals is 15 February 2013. See Numbered Note 22.
