Description
DESCRIPTION The Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office (NCO 9) is soliciting proposals on a full and open competitive basis from qualified organizations to award of an indefinite delivery/requirements (ID/R, Base + 4 option Year) contract. The proposed contract will cover performance periods that include a base period of (6) months, plus four (4) option years. It is anticipated that the contract will be awarded April 1, 2013. The contract shall include a requirement for ambulance transportation services which require 24 hours a day, seven days a week for beneficiaries of the VA Medical Center on an as needed basis. The Contractor shall provide all supplies, materials, equipment, labor, supervision, management and transportation to furnish emergent ambulance transportation service (both ALS and BLS) to eligible VA beneficiaries of the Lexington VA Medical Center, Lexington, Kentucky twenty-four (24) hours a day seven days a week. Service will include transportation to points within the Kentucky, Tennessee, West Virginia, Ohio, and other areas as necessary. The Lexington Veterans Affairs Medical Center is a fully accredited, two-division, tertiary care medical center with an operating bed complement of 199 hospital beds. Cooper Division is located adjacent to the University of Kentucky Medical Center. The Leestown Division is located five miles away from Cooper Division. Currently, the Lexington VA Medical Center operates four community-based outpatient clinics (CBOC) in Somerset, Morehead, Hazard and Berea Kentucky to provide primary care services to veterans located outside the Lexington area. The contractor shall furnish 24-hour ambulance service for the beneficiaries of the VAMC on an as needed basis, ALS-Advanced Life Support and BLS-Basic Life Support transport will be determined by the VA provider making the request for transportation. The contract shall include a requirement for Emergent ambulance transportation services.
