- Description
- This proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority for FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals, however, all information received within fifteen days (15) after publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District intends to specify the following manufacturers product in the Joint Special Operations University (JSOU), MacDill AFB, FL project in order to properly manage the high density customer work spaces required by USSOCOM-J6 in its new data center. USSOCOM requires a specified brand name, firm fixed price purchase order for; modular furniture from Haworth Modular Office furniture. This project will include constructing a multi-story facility with precast concrete exterior wall panels. Project includes site improvements, landscaping, communications and anti-terrorism/force protection. Construction consists of concrete pile foundation, structural steel framing, reinforced concrete slab, fire protection, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, security system, assured telecomm architecture, HVAC and built up roof. The US Special Operations Command (SOCOM) has experienced unprecedented growth since September 11, 2001. The SOCOM compound has expanded with new buildings and routinely reorganizes to accommodate the evolving mission. Therefore, USSOCOM maintains an inventory of spare parts in order to rapidly accomplish frequent office reconfigurations as required. Maintaining multiple types of inventories of systems furniture would create an additional space requirement as well as an increased administrative burden and cost. USSOCOM also provides support to two local subordinate (component) commands. They also use Haworth as the standard cubical furniture. SOCOM's modular work stations' IT and electrical requirements were factored into the ultimate decision to utilize Haworth as the sole provider of modular workstations. Firms interested in being considered shall provide manufactures name, product data and written statement of compatibility. The written statement of compatibility shall include manufacturer backup information and support documentation. Responses must be received fifteen (15) days after publication of this notice. Responses should be addressed to: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District, ATTN: Rosemary Hall: CESAM-CT-C, P.O. Box 2288, Mobile, AL 36628-0001, faxed to 251-441-6510 ATTN: Rosemary Hall or emailed to Rosemary.C.Hall@usace.army.mil
