- Performance Work Statement for the STARBASE Sources Sought 8(a) set-aside - This requirement may be solicited on a sole source or competitive basis THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL The Marine Corps Installation East (MCIEast), Camp Lejeune, NC is seeking information on 8(a) small businesses that can provide services to support the Marine Corps Air Station, Beaufort, SC STARBASE educational program. This Sources Sought Notice is for informational and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation or commitment by the Government. This notice is intended strictly for market research. The purpose of this Sources Sought Notice is to determine interest and capability of potential qualified Small Business Administration (SBA) certified 8(a) firms relative to the North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) 561210 (Facilities Support Services). Responses are to be sent via email to patricia.madison@usmc.mil no later than 5 p.m. 18 January 2013. A draft of the Performance Work Statement (PWS) is attached for review. DoD STARBASE program is a premier educational program, students participating in the program is provide challenging, "hand-on, mind-on" activities in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM). They interact with military personnel to explore careers and observe STEM application in the "real world". The draft PWS is for informational purposes only, it does not commit the Government to contract for services, or to pay any cost incurred in preparation of any submission in response to the draft PWS. The period of performance is anticipated to be for three years (base ordering period of one (1) year with two twelve months option periods). Contractor shall submit a narrative demonstrating their experience in program management, educational instruction, and curriculum development. If a solicitation is issued, it will be announced at a later date. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this announcement. This sources sought notification will close on 18 January 2013.
