- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to issue a Sole Source modification to the E-6B Brakes contract (N00019-11-D-0005), to General Atomics System Integration (GA-SI) 1343 Flint Meadows Drive, Suite 2, Kaysville, UT 84037-9632. This modification is for the manufacture and installation of brake components and the Brake Temperature Monitor System (BTMS) into the Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training's (CNATT) Landing Gear Trainer (LGT). GA-SI is currently under contract N00019-11-D-0005 to design and development E-6B aircraft brake system upgrade and Brake Temperature Monitoring System (BTMS). The design and development effort is not yet completed and the Government has not received engineering data needed to implement modifications into the MLGT. GA-SI is the only source for the required information and able to ensure configuration of MLGT matches configuration of Brake system upgrade and BTMS when installed in the aircraft. The proposed contractual action will be a Firm Fixed Price modification for the supplies and services necessary to remove the existing brake system hardware and install all interconnecting cables, mechanical mountings, and other materials necessary to upgrade the CNATT landing gear trainer (LGT) to the new brakes configuration. This effort will modify the left side main gear with brakes, wheels, tires, hydraulic components, and BTMS components. New wheels brakes and tires will be installed on the trainer's right side and will be non-functional. The left side will be modified with the wheels, tires, BTMS components/hydraulic tubing and will be fully functional.
