Description

FBO Special Notice This is not a request for proposal or a request for quote. This is a notice of intent of the Library of Congress to negotiate a sole source contract with Microsoft Corporation for software and associated maintenance for Microsoft Premier Support. Software maintenance includes: Departmental foundation/baseline for Information Technology in its desktop, server, messaging environments, and other environments. Microsoft Premier Support allows CRS IMT to elevate unresolved highly complex technical issues involving the Microsoft environment to designated experts at Microsoft on an as-needed basis. It is in the best interest of the Government to acquire the products through this vehicle to ensure consistent terms and conditions in licensing and maintenance, and to take advantage of administrative cost savings obtained from having all products licensed and maintained through a single vendor. These strategies are in the best interest of the Library and the price is considered to be fair and reasonable. The statutory authority for this sole source procurement is 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1).
