- NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE The Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) intends to award a Sole Source contract to American Magnetics, Inc. to furnish the following: 1 each Superconducting Magnet System comprised of the following: 1 each 3T Superconducting Split-Coil: Rated Field @ 4.2K- 3 Tesla, Clear radial cold bore diameter- 2.0 inches, Homogeneity- +/-3.0 % in a 1 cm diameter spherical volume (DSV), 1 each Liquid Helium Research Dewar- Vapor Shielded: Inside diameter: 6.8 inches, Outside diameter: 20.8 inches, Inside depth: 47.0 inches, Total outside height: 52.0 inches, Liquid Helium capacity: 60 liters, Est. static helium loss rate: 0.400 liters/hour, 1 each Variable Temperature Dewar Insert (Sample in Vapor) with Integrated Magnet Support Assembly, Sample size: 1.5 inches, Operating temperature: 1.5K- 300K, 1 each Model 135 Liquid Helium Level Monitor, 1 each Model 4Q06125PS-430 Bi-Polar Power Supply System with the following specifications @ 25 ºC: DC Output (supply current mode) +/- 6V@ +/-125 A, Primary power: 180-264 VAC; 47-63 Hz, Programmable ramp rate: 0.0001 A/min - 10 A/sec., Programming accuracy: 50 mA, Voltage resolution: 10 mV (display), Current resolution: 10mA display, 0.0156 mA internal, Current stability (Drift) @ 25 ºC: Better than 25 mA after 20 minutes. Voltage stability: <10 mV P-P*, Persistent switch heater output: 0.0-125.0 mA dc, Current control: Up-Pause-Down-Zero, Computer interface: Ethernet and RS-232, Cooling: Forced Air Cooled, Output noise (maximum): 120 mV p-p, Approximate Dimensions (excl. rack): 8.75"H x 19"Wx 21.5"D, Load inductance range: 0.5 to 100 H, Ambient temperature Rating: 0-50 oC, 1 each Liquid Helium Transfer Line. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 334515 with the size standard of 500 employees. This purchase will be made under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (FAR) Part 13 and Other than Full and Open Competition as authorized by FAR 6.302-1. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be honored. No award will be made on the basis of quotes or offers received in response to this notice. Vendors who feel that they can provide the above requirement may submit a quotation and technical capabilities, which if received within fifteen (15) calendar days of publication if this notices, shall be considered by NRL. All responses must be submitted to the Government point of contact at the email address shown below. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The intent of this notice is for informational purposes only. No reimbursement for any cost connected with providing capability information will be provided.
