- AMENDMENT 00001, EFFECTIVE JAN 14, 2013. The purpose of this amendment is to answer a question why boat with bladders are not considered: a. Bladders are not repairable they need to be removed from the tubes and replaced. Each tube has 3 different size bladders and we would have to purchase multiple bladder types and quantities (we currently have no boats with bladders and have no inventory of bladders). Each bladder is over $300. Over the course of 8-10yrs we will spend countless more dollars on purchasing spare bladders than typical tube patching. b. Repairing a bladder type tube is very time consuming. We can't just patch a puncher in 30 mins. Replacing the bladder will take 3 times as long. Over the course of 8-10yrs (life of tube) we will spend countless more hrs on labor fixing our boats. c. Working conditions need to be almost hospital like ( which is near impossible in a boat shop) to ensure bladder compartment is completely sterile during bladder replacement or small pin holes in new bladder will occur causing slow leaks creating more labor of constantly having to top off tubes every day. 2.
