Description

This is an announcement of the scheduling of an Industry Conference in accordance with FAR 15.201(c) for the Consumer Return Medication Envelope acquisition. This is not a solicitation for quotes, neither unsolicited proposals nor any other kinds of offers will be considered in response to this announcement and there will be no contract award from this announcement. There will be no reimbursement for any costs associated with participation in the Industry Conference. It is the Government's intent to accomplish the following five objectives as a result of this Industry Conference: 1) Provide industry with brief overview of the Consumer Return Medication Envelopes process. 2) Historically there has been a low rate of envelope return under the fixed priced model utilized in pilot studies; VA requests assistance from industry to ensure the government doesn't pay for services not fully rendered. 3) Receive information from industry regarding consumer pharmaceutical return process. 4) Provide industry opportunity to assist with CLIN structure. PURPOSE: This notice is to announce the Consumer Return Medication Envelopes Industry Conference, which will be hosted by the Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Pharmacy Benefits Management (PBM) Services, and will be held at the Department of Veterans Affairs, Strategic Acquisition Center (SAC) located at the location listed below on January 22, 2013. There will be a simultaneous live meeting and teleconference communications set up for this event. This Industry Conference will allow interested vendors an opportunity to understand the objectives of the Consumer Return Medication Envelope program, ask questions regarding the process, and allow industry the opportunity to assist with the development of the CLIN structure of this benchmark program. This Industry Day Conference Notice is the initiation of periodic market research under Part 10 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and is not a Request for Proposals (RFP). The Government does not intend to pay for any information furnished in response to this announcement. Vendor program managers and subject matter expects knowledgeable of pharmaceutical Consumer destruction process are encouraged to attend. SPECIFICATIONS/STATEMENT OF OBJECTIVES & INDUSTRY DAY AGENDA: The VHA PBM has provided as attachments to this announcement, the Draft Specifications/Statement of Objectives (SOO) and the Industry Conference briefing which can be found in (Attachment 1 and 2) of this RFI. LOCATION OF INDUSTRY: The Strategic Acquisition Center (SAC) 10300 Spotsylvania Avenue, Suite 400, Fredericksburg, VA 22407. Please ensure cell phones are silenced before the meeting.
