Description

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to issue an order under Basic Ordering Agreement N00019-12-G-0006 with the Bell Boeing Joint Program Office on an other than full and open competitive basis. This order will cover Non-Recurring Engineering for the Improved Inlet Solution (IIS) for the V-22 Osprey Aircraft. This effort is intended to develop a solution(s) to reduce the amount of particulate matter ingested into the V-22 Turboshaft Engines. This order will cover Non-Recurring Engineering for IIS through completion of the System Requirements Review. Non-Recurring Engineering for IIS will also support other risk mitigation and analysis efforts. Bell-Boeing is the sole designer, developer, and producer of the V-22 Tiltrotor aircraft and is the only known source that possesses the engineering data, technical skills and requisite knowledge of the design, fabrication, performance, operation, and maintenance and support characteristics of the aircraft. See Note 22.
