- Amendment 1 - Plans. 4 revised sheets. Amendment 1 - Specification sections and SF-1442, which extends the bid opening to January 29th, 2013. This project is 100% Set Aside for Small Business. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Construction services include strengthening a 3,380-foot section of the Bradley Canyon Levee, Santa Barbara County, CA. The levee will be strengthened by two methods: installing a steel combi-wall and constructing a soil cement revetment. The new combi-wall will connect to an existing combi-wall and will be installed at the crest of the Bradley Canyon levee along a 1,000-foot section. The combi-wall consists of king piles and sheet piles. The king piles and sheet piles will be driven to depths of approximately 64 feet and 52 feet, respectively. The upstream end of the combi-wall will overlap with the downstream end of the soil cement revetment. The soil cement revetment will be constructed against the existing levee at a slope of 2 horizontal: 1 vertical and have a width of 8 feet. The soil cement will extend approximately 2,380 feet and will have a vertical height of approximately 30 feet. Approximately 19 feet of the soil cement height will be buried. A section of the Bradley Canyon levee will be raised with compacted fill by a maximum 1.6 feet. The existing low flow will be diverted during construction and restored after construction is completed. The estimated cost of this project is $5,000,000 and $10,000,000.
