- Naval Postgraduate School Oceanography Department Acoustic Releases and Tandem Brackets The Naval Postgraduate School Oceanography Department has a need for to procure acoustic releases and tandem brackets from the manufacture EdgeTech Corporation under a Brand Name Sole Source Justification. Minimal Technical Requirements of the above referenced Part Numbers. Vendor must submit a capabilities statement or proof the units quoted will meet the minimal technical requirements listed below. Lightweight (25 lbs. In air; 11 lbs. In water) Has a release load rating of at least 750 lbs. A lifting load rating of at least 2000 lbs. Can operate for 2 years on alkaline batteries Has a frequency range of at least 7 to 15 khz Has a depth rating of at least 3000 meters. Command coding must be BACS in order to be compatible with the communications deck box Must be capable of tandem deployment with a tandem assembly bracket, specifically designed to pair two units for redundancy. The operations, command responses, and basic maintenance procedure must be similar to the existing NPS OC dept. Deep-water acoustic releases 18 model 8242/8242xs units Pricing must include assembly, power port adapter, and shipping costs Must submit the commercial warranty details for all the equipment quoted Part Numbers 008118 PORT Push Off Release Transponder QTY 2 Option to purchase up to an additional quantity of 4 units 0008237 PORT LF Tandem Assembly QTY 1 Option to purchase up to an additional quantity of 2 units 0002332 Purge Port Adapter QTY 1 Option to purchase up to an additional quantity of 2 units.
