Description
This is a market survey for information only, to be used for preliminary planning purposes and to identify business with the capability to accomplish the work. This is not a solicitation for proposals. The Government will not pay for any information provided as a result of this market survey. Sources Sought/Request for Information - Construct a Consolidated Strategic Satellite Communications Earth Station (SATCOM) and Technical Control Facility (TCF) [42,840 SF] at Fort Buckner, Okinawa, Japan. The SATCOM/TCF facility includes space for operations and maintenance support areas, secure training areas, technical library, secure conference area, break area, storage area, loading docks, and antenna operating sites with cable trenches. Also, construct a standard design, small Battalion Headquarters (14,280 SF) and a Directorate of Information Management Facility (43,860 SF) both on Torii Station, Okinawa, Japan. The U.S. Army Engineer District-Japan is planning to solicit a Request for Proposal (RFP), solicitation. Any solicitations pursued are intended for local sources only. Local sources are those sources physically located and licensed to perform construction work in Japan. The total estimated cost for this project is between 2,500,000,000 Japanese YEN to 10,000,000,000 Japanese YEN. Therefore, the Government intends to require contractors to demonstrate bonding capacity of 2,000,000,000 Japanese YEN. SOURCES SOUGHT QUESTIONNAIRE: Interested firms are requested to furnish comments on the following questions: (1) Has your firm performed projects of similar scope and magnitude successfully in the past? (2) Would your firm have interest of this and other projects of similar scope and magnitude? (3) Does your firm have the required bonding capabilities of this magnitude? (4) Does your firm have the ability to work on multiple projects of similar scope/magnitude and at different locations/geographical areas? (5) In general terms, your firm's interest and capability to perform this construction work anticipated in this sources sought. (6) Other comments or information you wish to provide for consideration. If you do not have any comment on a particular question, please indicate so.
