Description
The Fort Sill Directorate of Contracting Office intends to issue an Unrestricted Full and Open solicitation for the Fires Center of Excellence in identifying promising technologies for the future of Fires. At the direction of the Vice Chief of Staff Army (VCSA), and in coordination with the Space and Missile Defense Command, the USAFCoE will continue to assess and develop quote mark Electric Fires quote mark (EF) capabilities, which include but is not limited to directed energy (high and/or free energy laser, high power microwaves, etc.), plasma and electromagnetic kinetic energy weapons technologies used to destroy, degrade, deny or disrupt a threat's capability. As the Army explores the potential these new technologies provide to fill current capability gaps, will simultaneously investigate and identify how Electric Fires technologies create new gaps in our war fighting functions with regards to Army doctrine, organizations, training, material, leadership and education, personnel and facilities (DOTMLPF). The solicitation will be forthcoming on or about 18 January 2013 and will be available to prospective offerors on Army Single Face to Industry (ASFI) on the following website: https://acquisition.army.mil/asfi/. The resultant contract will be a firm fixed price. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code 541712 - Professional, Scientific & Tech Services/541712 - Res & Dev in the Physical, Engineering, and Life Sciences (except Biotechnology) is applicable to this acquisition. The applicable size standard is 500 employees. Pursuant to FAR 4.1102(a), prospective contractors shall be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database prior to award of a contract. Contractors are encouraged to obtain further information on SAM registration at the following website: http://www.sam.gov. Any questions may be directed to Contract Specialist: Patricia Dominguez, email: patricia.m.dominguez2.civ@mail.mil or Contracting Officer: Karen L. Warner, email: karen.l.warner@mail.mil.
