Description
THE SOLICITATION FOR THIS PROJECT WILL BE POSTED ON OR ABOUT FEBRUARY 11, 2013. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This project consists of improvements to the aviation facilities at the Redmond Air Center (RAC) on the Deschutes National Forest. The work will address existing deficiencies and deferred maintenance at the Airtanker Ramp (Work Area 1), Smokejumper Ramp (Work Area 2) and Cache Wareyard (Work Area 3). Work at the Cache Wareyard will be optional to the contract. Work at all three areas will require coordination with the Redmond Airport for security, waste disposal and/or staging areas. The Airtanker Ramp is approximately 380,000 square feet of asphalt pavement and three existing concrete parking pads. New work will include construction of a fourth concrete pad to support a parked Airtanker. This will require demolition of some existing pavement and a new asphalt section around the pad to tie back to the existing asphalt. Additional maintenance work on the Airtanker Ramp will include crack sealing, seal coating the entire surface and restriping. The Smokejumper Ramp is approximately 190,000 square feet of asphalt pavement. New work will include demolition of the entire ramp. This will require demolition of the existing pavement section and reconstruction of a new pavement section that will tie into existing grades. Additional work will include restriping, installation of new tie down anchors and rewiring of the gate vehicle detector loop. The Cache wareyard is approximately 100,000 square feet of asphalt pavement. Maintenance work will include crack sealing and repair of a settled section of asphalt that transitions from the wareyard to the warehouse. PROJECT LOCATION: This project is located at the Redmond Air Center (RAC) and Roberts Field-Redmond Municipal Airport. Redmond Air Center Administration Building is located 1740 SE Ochoco Way, Redmond, OR 97756 Contractors shall furnish all labor, supervision, equipment, materials, transportation, supplies (unless specified elsewhere as Government-furnished), and incidentals required to accomplish specified work in compliance with the terms, specifications, and provisions of the contract. Work is estimated to begin around April 1, 2013. Engineering point of contact is Alan Buehrig, telephone: (541) 383-5610 or Steve Pickert 541 416-6513. Both performance and payment bonds will be required for this project as well as a bid guarantee. Estimated project value is between $1,000,000 to $5,000,000. NAICS 237310 with size standard $33.5 mil. This project is a HUBzone set aside.
